5km - Crete Marathon 2025

By submitting my Participation Application I declare that I am participating in the “race” (Marathon / 10km / 5km / 2.5km) with my sole responsibility, having done the necessary medical examinations and having undergone the necessary cardiac examinations. I declare that I have read the detailed terms of participation in the “race”, contained in the text entitled “Invitation/Information package 2021” and accept them.
I also declare that the information stated above is absolutely true. I waive any claim against the organizers of the “race” for any physical or other damage or damage for any reason and I agree to the free use of my name / image by the Media, the Organizing Committee, and the sponsors of the “race” for promotional purposes. Lastly, I undertake that I will under no circumstances assign the number of participation that the Organizing Committee of the “race” will give me to another person in order to participate in the “race”. (In the case of an underage participant, the details of the parent or guardian must be completed and by submitting the application means that the parent or guardian gives his or her consent to the underage participant to participate in the race and agrees with the content of the above statement.)

PHYSICAL CONDITION

The Participant has undergone all necessary medical tests that confirm that he or she is fit for athletic activity.
The Participant has considered the nature and extent of the risks involved, has considered and is satisfied with the facilities and voluntarily decides to assume the risks associated with the Event, whether known or unknown. The Participant consents to treatment in case of emergency or other incident where, at the reasonable discretion of the on-site personnel, the Participant will require medical attention. The organizers are not liable for any injuries or damages the Participant may suffer from his participation in the Event.

The Participant acknowledges that it is his/her duty to participate as safely as possible and in particular that it is bound by the rules of the Event, accepts the information and safety instructions and will take care to avoid dangerous situations and to take care of itself and others participants. The Participant also understands the consequences of any failure to comply with these rules, which may include excluding him/her from future similar events. The Participant certifies that any equipment he / she uses for the Event is functioning properly, is maintained properly and is suitable for the Event.

The processing of the participants’ personal data is processed in accordance with the terms of EU General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR). In this context, the Organizing Committee of the Marathon of Crete seeks the consent of the participants for the following categories of processing: I consent to the use of the e-mail address provided for sending newsletters from the event about the event and related information, to inform me of upcoming events and my ability to participate and to be updated regarding my ability to participate in research conducted by the Organizer in order to improve the race and the experience of the participants. I also consent to the availability of the e-mail address stated to the Sponsors and affiliates of the Event for the purpose of informing me of actions taken by those in the context of this event.

If the registered runner wishes to change the above consents to which he/her has voluntarily proceeded, he/she may send a request to registrations@crete-marathon.gr up to 10 days prior to the race, clearly specifying the fields of consent he/she wishes to change.

Crete Marathon stores the data you provide when registering for a sporting event. Based on this information “HEX P.C.” will publicly release the results of your participation in the sporting event. The event will be videorecorded and will be broadcasted publicly.

Your contact information and age are essential for the proper processing of results and for your safety as a participant in the sporting event in which you register. For this reason we will store the following data:
– Name Surname
– Age & gender
– Contact Phone
– Email
– Postal code, City, Country

Your name, surname, year of birth and gender, will be published in the results of the race and they will remain public for as long as the organizers decide. These data will remain in the database for 36 months. If you wish, you can delete your personal data, by contacting us at registrations@crete-marathon.gr or by calling 0030-2821-405253.
