Program of the 9th Crete Marathon and parallel events

Ceremony of Cutting the Kotinos from the Ancient Olive Tree of Vouves of the Municipality of Platanias for the awarding of the athletes.

The torch relay will start from the building of the Regional Unit of Chania on Eleftherias Square and will end at the National Stadium of Chania at 20:10, which is dedicated to the Memory of the late Metropolitan Irineos Galanakis.

9th Crete Marathon Opening Ceremony:

The opening ceremony will take place immediately after the torch relay and will be followed by a pasta party for the participants.

All starts will take place outside the main gate of the National Sports Center of Chania (Elena Venizelou Stadium, Eleftheriou Venizelou Street) and the finishes will take place inside the 100 meter line.

11:00 a.m.: Awards for the Marathon, 10 and 5 km. and team

12:50 p.m.: traditional dance

1:15 p.m.: Other awards

On Sunday, April 6, 2025, from 6:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., there will be a traffic, stopping and parking ban on the roads where the races will be held. More details will be announced by the Chania Police Department.
